Premium Support provides structured one-to-one academic guidance during your Master’s degree, helping you apply the skills developed in the Pre-Master’s Research and Writing Programme to real study situations.

Premium Support is only available to students who have enrolled on, or completed, the Pre-Master’s Research and Writing Programme.

Who the Premium Support is for

Premium Support is suitable for students who would benefit from regular academic guidance during their Master’s degree.

The service is available only to students who have enrolled on or completed The UK Research Academy’s Pre-Master’s Research and Writing Programme.

Premium Support can help students:

  • understand what an assignment is asking you to do;
  • turn broad ideas into clearer academic questions;
  • plan an essay, presentation or literature review;
  • improve the structure of an argument;
  • use sources more critically;
  • respond constructively to tutor feedback;
  • prepare for meetings with supervisors or tutors;
  • manage reading lists and deadlines;
  • develop more confident seminar contributions;
  • reflect on progress and next steps.

How many one-to-one sessions are included?

Premium Support includes six one-to-one academic guidance sessions during your Master’s year. Sessions are scheduled at times that suit you and can be used whenever you need guidance on your studies. Additionally, you get email support for brief follow-up questions between sessions.

Premium Support is designed to strengthen a student’s independent academic development. You may discuss ideas, plans, feedback, reading strategies, argument structure and academic expectations. However, all submitted work must remain your own. Where you are unsure about what is allowed, always check your university’s academic integrity policy.

What Premium Support does not include

Premium Support does not include:

  • writing essays, dissertations, applications or assignments for students;
  • rewriting student work so that it can be submitted;
  • producing arguments, research questions or literature reviews on the student’s behalf;
  • completing assessed tasks;
  • guaranteeing grades, admission, progression or degree outcomes;
  • providing subject-specialist supervision in place of the student’s university;
  • giving visa, immigration, legal or financial advice;
  • authorising the use of AI where the student’s university has not permitted it.
